PROFESSIONAL RECORDING AND POST-PRODUCTION STUDIOS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF LONDON, MOMENTS FROM HIGHBURY & ISLINGTON STATION.

Since its establishment in 2009, REX has been building its reputation as a boutique recording and writing facility, and studio founder Macks has worked with Grammy and Mercury nominated artists, as well as a wealth of emerging talent, to create a space unlike any other.

REX offers two unique creative spaces full of high-end recording equipment and100% vibes. Each room features the signature REX crushed velvet interior and mood lighting. Both studios are fully sound-proofed and air-conditioned.

Producer, Engineer, Songwriter, TikTok Viking

Macks began his recording career in the early 00’s on a Tascam 388 reel-to-reel which he has recently resurrected and made the centrepiece of the Pink Room. He spent his twenties as a musician in bands signed to Mute Records and Universal, recording with producers Dan Grech, Charlie Huggall and Ash Workman.

In his role as a producer and engineer, Macks has worked with artists including, Caroline Polachek, Yellow Days, Oscar Lang, Greentea Peng, Algiers and Moses Sumney.

Thanks to the breadth of his expertise, Macks is able to offer his insight and assistance with recording projects of all kinds, and has recently added VO production and remote recording to his growing list of skills.

He also has an ear for developing new talent, and collaborates closely with a tight network of publishers and record label A&Rs worldwide.
